It might have come from the '50s and '60s R she fell in love with as a girl growing up in England. Golightly lived on her grandparents' farm in East Sussex, riding horses. She was on track to complete a four year apprenticeship as a jockey when she had an accident and got a metal plate in her arm. She dropped out of the race and started keeping rescue horses.
"When you're dealing with a very large animal that is liable to kill you, it makes you better in dealing with people," she said. Billy Childish, the band founder and a prolific artist, added her to the lineup. Golightly became one of Thee Headcoatees, an all female garage band that in the early 1990s launched her musical career.
